Remember to return your 2011 Palm Sunday Palms to Aveleigh Sunday Feb.19, 2012. These Palms will be burned in the church parking lot before the Shrove Tuesday, Feb. 21, 10a.m. Chapel Service. Burning the Palms celebrates how God has completely cleansed and forgiven all pasted repented sins and in the fire of the Holy Spirit we are newly empowered to faithfully living.
ASH WEDNESDAY AVELEIGH EVENTS: Book A Week Club on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 22 2112 All are invited to come and participate in observing the beginning of LENT. Dinner will be served in Truesdell Hall (gym) at 6p.m. in concurrence with Book A Week Club’s Bible Study. All are welcome to come as well to participate study (which begins at 6:30p.m.), Book A Week Club will conclude with our annual Service of the Ashes where all receive the ashes in the sign of the cross, on the forehead symbolizing personal repentance and the beginning of our Lenten Journey.
